The second trailer for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues has been released online. It’s a mild tease much like the previous trailer, featuring Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) and the rest of the Channel 4 news crew spouting their bizarre new catchphrases. Unsurprisingly it’s Steve Carell’s Brick who once again gets the biggest laugh here, the hilariously dimwitted character attempting to offer some questionable advice in his usual bumbling manner.

The first theatrical trailer for Sebastian Cordero’s sci-fi horror film Europa Report has exited orbit and made a safe landing online. It looks like a tense and claustrophobic journey to some particularly unnerving dark corners of outer space, but what really frightens me is that this trailer is giving off a strong Apollo 18 vibe. However unlike that found footage travesty, Europa Report looks like it could be a more cerebral affair, playing off the audience’s fears of being stuck in a uninhabitable environment so far from home. Oh and the possibility of aliens or monsters. That’s probably pretty scary too…

The plot of the film follows “a group of astronauts, handpicked from around the world, who make the arduous journey to Jupiter’s frigid, glacial moon Europa in search of extraterrestrial life. The only thing more intimidating and unpredictable than the trip itself is what the team will encounter upon arrival…”

Sharlto Copley stars alongside Michael Nyqvist, Daniel Wu, Anamaria Marinca, Christian Camargo, and Karolina Wydra.

NECA recently revealed the design for their latest Jason figurine which is directly inspired by the 8-bit Friday The 13th NES game from 1989. Jason doesn’t get much more retro than this!

The hockey mask wearing serial killer is sporting the same questionable bright purple jumpsuit that he wore in the game, while his mask, hands and feet are glow in the dark.

A Friday The 13th game sounds like fun right? Wrong! The infamously terrible game saw players assume the role as a camp counsellor attempting to rescue their friends and defeat a machete wielding Jason. Having only one villain was obviously not going to cut it, so zombies were thrown in the game as obstacles as well. Zombies that you defeat by throwing rocks at them. Yeah, it wasn’t a very good game…

A new image has been released from Guillermo del Toro’s robots vs. monsters movie Pacific Rim. The still is of a museum exhibition, the centrepiece for which is a whopping big Kaiju skull. A trophy of mankind’s triumphant battles with the creatures perhaps? Or a reminder that these beings could resurface at anytime?

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. The first trailer for Riddick has navigated the darkness and made its way online. The promising looking sci-fi film is the third instalment in a trilogy that begun with the excellent Pitch Black and was followed by the muddled The Chronicles Of Riddick. Vin Diesel stars as the titular character.

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.

The first trailer for the horror anthology V/H/S 2 has debuted online in all its bloody, chaotic glory. I enjoyed the majority of the first V/H/S, but judging by this trailer the sequel has much more to offer. The overall product looks bigger, slicker and wilder, not to mention gory as hell. Everything and the kitchen sink has seemingly been thrown into this whirlwind of blood and scares, promising one hell of a wild ride. Count me in!

V/H/S 2 combines the directorial talents of Simon Barrett, Adam Wingard, Gareth Evans, Eduardo Sanchez, Gregg Hale, Jason Eisener and Timo Tjahjanto. The film will be released on VOD on June 6 and in theatres on July 12.

He missed out on his chance to play a cowboy in Django Unchained but Will Smith may strap on a six shooter yet.

TheWrap has revealed that Smith is in talks to star in Warner Bros.’ reboot of the classic 1969 Sam Peckinpah western, The Wild Bunch. The After Earth star would also produce the film under his Overbrook Entertainment banner with Jerry Weintrau, who he worked on The Karate Kid remake with.

A new poster for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has surfaced on the film’s Instagram page. It shows a confident Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen standing tall upon a cliff face, bow in hand and ready to take on the world. With it’s gorgeous hand painted style and epic scale, it’s without a doubt the best piece of marketing material we’ve seen for the film so far.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire “continues the story of Katniss Everdeen and the fictional, futuristic nation of Panem. Due to the events of the previous novel, a rebellion against the ruling Capitol has begun, and Katniss and fellow tribute Peeta are forced to return to the arena in a special edition of the The Hunger Games.”

The folks over at Bloody Disgusting have revealed that Warner Bros. has officially green lit a reboot of the classic 1984 Amblin monster movie Gremlins. So unfortunately that means we can say goodbye to any chance of the long-rumoured Gremlins 3.
